The world as we know it is going to die soon

You know it, I know it. But no one is doing anything...The people who want to can't. There is an unavoidable crash coming soon, for many reasons, one of them being oil. If we drill in Alaska we will have a more ready supply to tide us over until we can create other means of producing energy. However, your know our government. Because the supply is up they are going to lower the cost and the demand will stay the same or rise for oil. Then because that oil depleted, the stock market will crash, followed by the fall of...well, something. It could be humanity as a whole, just corporations, the poor, the middle class, everyone, whatever. It could be really bad, it could be not as bad as I think it may be.
Regardless, I have never been too fond of being ruled by anything other than a community government. So I am going to school to seek out the strong and ample minds, bodies and spirits that I can bond to and create a self-sufficient community with. And I'm not even kidding. We will need a carpenter, a seamstress, a gardener, a cook, a craftsman, a fisher/hunter for those who eat meat, a musician, a poet...The top of our trades to build the surviving generation.

And I bet you all think I'm crazy.
But who knows? This could be a thought that we seriously have to think. The problem will no longer be "what next to buy, where is the cheapest price, what can I buy to keep me happy" it will be "how do I survive?"

wow, weird.

I am really afraid you will all think I am mad, but you must understand that this is all too possible. The earth is dying, and that is a fact that no one can deny anymore, no matter how rich you are.

We are a lazy generation.
What next?
Where next?

Maybe I am crazy...but I don't see much opportunity on a long term scale if we are going to keep going along this path of war, usage, avarice and need.

Be the ones to think about what is coming next.
Be the ones who are ready.

oh, by the way: please dont critisize my politics and try and re-inform me. I know all I need to know and I don't care about governments anymore, be it the one that rules over me, the one that supplies that one its oil, whatever. I know there is more to everything than oil, so please don't state such. This is a warning, not a criticism.

We all are. I mean, I am, too. But I at least have a plan for the future if it really goes that bad...
I wanted to state that plan so as many people can see it as possible, and, if something like taht realyl does happen, they will haev a general idea of what to do for themselves: start anew.

Oh my, I think about all the time (well, ok, not all the time...but it has been crossing my mind more often lately)...and I try to wonder what it would be like without all the luxuries we have now (and that we take for granted): cars, electricity, running water (and toilets!) in our homes, etc, etc...

...and I'm really beginning to believe that we would be alot better off living in another "17th century". It would most definitely be humbling...and it would be nice to see people actually caring about others. Actually working together instead of "every man for himself".

Well, the whole world doesn't consist of concentrated capitalist provinces. The fall of consumerism would be a dramatic change, yes, but it would be far from apocalyptic...

I think Adbusters put out an issue in regards to a stock market crash/death of capitalism etc. It's actually quite interesting.

... though, that's just my humble opinion :) Honestly? The worst thing that could happen, really is that we'd all die. And that wouldn't be too bad because we'd all be dead.
you're far from being crazy, not thinking they way you do is being crazy.
a fisher/hunter ok im in where do i have to go?

Well, actually, it might not be too far from apocalyptic. Think about it. The only people who could afford to buy food in a state like that would be the drastically rich. The poor and middle class would just die of starvation unless they could farm their own food. The countries that already rely very little on a central government would be the best off, of course. But here in USA we'd be pretty dead.
This is, of course, just a guess at what it could be like. I have no idea what the future holds, and I can't expect anyone to.

I have that Adbusters, it's pretty good.
